It’s never quite straight forward at St. Pauli. It was reported yesterday that manager Michael Frontzeck had been taken to hospital with 3 broken ribs after a training ground collision with goalkeeper Philipp Tschauner. Odd enough.
But today the club released a statement advising that Frontzeck had been rushed into surgery, after doctors diagnosed a small tear in his lung having examined his broken ribs. Thankfully, the surgery went well and only took 6 minutes. Frontzeck is quoted as saying he feels well given the circumstances and is being well looked after. He should be out of hospital either towards the end of this week, or the start of next week depending on his recovery.
We wish Michael a full and speedy recovery!
